Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Hm. Clever." Christie muttered as she lost sight momentarily as he slipped in between the zombies. She took a deep breath and put her energy into running, ignoring the zombies, she jumped over obstacles and kept a sharp eye on Alan. Her eyes always waiting for a perfect shot. "I think that's our only bet for the moment, If we come up with any other ideas, we'll set off there. We should get there in no time." Lisa agreed before speeding off again. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Alan wiped the sweat off his brow as he looked behind him. He cussed at them and flipped them off, not slowing down. He heard the river ahead and smiled as he climbed onto a small rock. He smile faded when he looked at the huge, raging river in front of him. He mentally slapped himself, remembering what the time of year was. 'Fucking almost winter! Shit, and it rained yesterday! No wonder it's like this,' he thought, as he made his way over to the edge of the river bank. He climbed up onto another rock and looked around. 'Dare I do it? God, my life is probably safer in their hands then this,' he thought. He pushed that thought out though, remembering that he would only have to travel a few miles by the river in order to get to his destination. 'Let's go.' Adries was silent as they started to make their way to the hospital. She hoped they would be there, but knew that the chances of it were low. 'And even if they are we have no plan,' she thought. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | Jack took Christie's stun gun and aimed the laser, accounting for the drop and wind speed he waited until he saw Alan's arm pop out from behind the rock. Jack fired and Alan immediately fell backward into the rock. He kept his finger on the trigger ready to administer electrical shocks should he try to get up again. He lifted him up and walked behind him. As christie killed zombies he whispered to him. "I have a plan but you need to fucking cooperate. If you tell her what she wants to know we can all get what we want, even her. Her weakness is power, she craves it, she told me herself. The only reason she is here is because she wants power. You tell her what she wants to know, and I have a plan that will use her lust for power to get us out alive. You have to trust me though, I don't want anyone here killed, but with the route you're taking you will die. I'll explain in detail later, but either way she is going to get you to spill. I can at least get her to spare you and your own." |

Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Alan listened to Jack, quickly losing consciousness. He quickly said, "Like fuck I'll do that." before blacking out completely, his body completely drained of energy. "Wait!" Adries suddenly yelled to Lisa, startling her. "We need a plan! We can't just, bust up anywhere! We need weapons if we have to get my brother back by force! This won't work. They wouldn't go there either. Shit! They wouldn't go to a place that they know that we know about! Alright, we must think this through." |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "Well fuck, looks like I'll have to save your ass without your help then." Jack muttered as he walked back to Lisa who had dispatched the rest of the zombies. |
Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | Lisa stopped the car by the side of the road, resting her hands on the wheel. Christie shot the final zombie, point blank, the blood spattering slightly on her face. She turned to Jack who was holding the now unconscious Alan. A smile played around her lips. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | Jack dragged Alan as they went back to the car. "You said earlier that your superiors were offering you power? What are they offering? I bet I could get you much, much more. All you would need to do is follow my plan, one that I tried to coerce Alan into giving the information willingly with before he lost consciousness." Jack said as they walked back to the car. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "That isn't the only thing that we have to take into consideration," Adries added, thinking deeply, "What if Alan escaped? Where would he go? I think that they would try to take him somewhere where we wouldn't think of. Somewhere desolate. But, if Alan escaped the only place I can think of him going is to our summer home. Shit, we just have no clue what to do." |
Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Can you offer me a place as second to the general beside the President of the United States? Control over this state? If you can top that, you've gained my interest, if not let's stick to the plan we have, shall we? I'll stay in the back with him, I doubt he'll make another escape attempt with my knife held against his neck." Christie explained opening the back door so that Jack could put him in. Lisa bit down on her lip as she often did with stress. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Well, if you go another mile down the road there is an dirt road that you would take to get to it. So...North. It's completely desolate in the forest, next to the river. It's a big property," Adries told her, the stress starting to get to her. She started to tap her head against the table. 'Shit Alan, where are you?' she thought to herself. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "That I can Christie, I can give you the offer of any non-elected position you want. You get the information out of him and his aunt's notes, but you don't kill him. You blackmail your superiors and record the call and make sure you mention the zombies or the virus. When they agree you let me go on the air and explain what has happened, I'll implicate not the military, but the politicians. The president and in fact every politician will be scrambling to cover their ass, and in you come in with a recording that can allow them to point the blame at your superiors instead of all of them. You can get any non-elected position you want and a hailing as a hero if you wish. Its a simple plan of betrayal that you're superiors won't expect. They expect a cutthroat and a liar, but not someone who would betray them. They would think you would follow their orders, and then you turn on them. You can have your own superior's job, and that is more power than they are willing to offer, and both you and I know it would work all too well." Jack said as he loaded Alan in the back and climbed in the front seat. |
Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | She took a seat beside Alan, drawing her bowie knife ready. The plan made her eyes lit up. Lisa put a reassuring hand on Adries' shoulder. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "So, up north then? Check the summer home then continue on upwards?" Adries asked, thinking it through. It made sense, plus Uncle Al might still be there. 'And he'd be the most help,' she thought, taking a few deep breathes to come down. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "I'm glad, it really is the best plan for all parties involved. Alan gets his family and his life, I get to reveal the truth, and you get your power and glory. I think it is a win for all of us. The only people who get hurt are your superiors and the government, but who honestly cares about them in this situation." Jack said as he continued back on the way to the offices. |
Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Hm. Alright. If he cooperates, i'll consider it. If not, my options are low." She said finally before taking out a cigarette and lighting it. "North is the best option we have. We can go to the summer home and see if we find anything. How far way is it anyway?" Lisa spoke, fixing the gear and driving off at the usual speed. This plan gave her the best feeling she'd had since leaving the school. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "It's only about ten miles north. The road is complicated though. I'll be here to show you where to go though, so we don't get lost or anything," Adries told her as they started down the road. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | With Alan still unconscious they reached the offices. Jack carried him up to the fifth floor and tied his hands and feet tightly to the chair. His hands were bound behind him and each foot was bound to a chair leg. Jack and Christie made sure the bonds would not come undone or cut. They both took a different corner for the time being. They had left the car in the forest far enough away so as not to be seen, but close enough as to be reachable in case escape was needed. After a few minutes Jack patted Alan on the cheek. "Come on Alan, wake the hell up already." |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Alan slowly opened his eyes. He looked around on the ground for a moment, getting used to his surroundings. His body was aching beyond reason, and he could tell it was only going to get worse. He finally lifted his head and looked around him. He tried to move the chair, only moving it a few inches. 'I'm just too tired,' he thought to himself after becoming light-headed from the sudden movement. He focused his eyes on Jack, an anger coming over them. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "Don't give me that look." Jack reprimanded "I am giving you one last shot. I offered Lisa the power she craves, more than her superiors can give her, and she has accepted. If you accept the offer of your family in return for your knowledge, we can all walk away happy. I don't want you dead, or anyone for that matter. I could have shot you in the school or when you ran, I could have killed your sister, but I did not. I don't want anymore bloodshed, but if you refuse I cannot guarantee your family's safety. If you accept, you will tell us what you know, and you and your family will be able to do whatever the hell you want. This is because for Christie to get what she wants I need to implicate the federal government for this atrocity and not your family. You will all be safe to live your lives as you wish. I implore you to accept, or else Christie will not accept my generous offer and she will kill your family I am sure of it. Do what is in you and your family's best interest and speak." Jack spoke calmly. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Alan was silent as he listened to Jack. After he was finished he quietly spoke. "You should be happy that my mouth is dry or else I would have spat in your face," he said coldly. 'Who does he think he is?' he thought to himself angrily, 'He just doesn't understand. He's one of them now. One who thinks he knows how everything is and shit. No one can protect the family.' |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "You seem to think I don't understand, and I don't. So help me to understand. Maybe an explanation is in order. If you speak and give us your aunt's notes willingly, nothing more, I can expose it to the world as the government's doing. As all politicians scramble to cover their ass, Christie will have recorded a conversation with her superiors. With this tape in hand every politician will giver her whatever she wants in order to save their jobs. With her ne found power the hunt for your family is called off. What in this plan will not work? Why not? Answer these questions and I may be able to work around them, but if you say nothing I can't even attempt to help you." Jack said back. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Well, first off I don't have my aunt's notes," Alan replied snobbishly, not really in the mood to chat. "Second. NO. You know what that word means? I keep telling you no but you seem to not be able to understand. The hunt for my family will never be called off! There is so much in your plan that is complete bullshit! I can't even begin. You'd think they wouldn't do something to stop this. You're just some stupid ass, hero-wannabe teacher from some middle-sized city! I mean, fuck man!" Alan yelled as he looked around the room to see if there was anything that could possibly be used for an escape, "And then you work with someone like her! I should have just shot her in the head when I had the chance!" |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "Maybe, but you didn't. What in my plan is bullshit, politicians like you, look out for number one. They will be too busy covering their own asses to care about your family, and from what I've seen your family can handle any rogue element well on its own. I know you don't have your aunt's notes, but she does. We need something to get the people on our side in this, and your family are the only ones with that capability. Help us, we need your family's intelligence and skills if we plan to escape this at all. My plan is the best chance your family has at surviving. Hell, if you do all meet up, what will you do? Run, hide, and pray no one finds you again? How about standing and fighting like I've seen your family capable of and I have the broken nose and bruised chest to prove it. I'm not a good man, but I'm trying and you aren't helping me or anyone else at all with this creed of silence." Jack calmly continued. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "MY FAMILY IS THE FUCKING VIRUS YOU FUCKING IDIOT!" Alan roared at him, trying to break out of his restraints and falling to the floor. There. See? Done! Now you know why everyone wants us dead. We are it. Our...existence is the reason why there is always the chance of this happening again! The only way to permanently get rid of the chance is to exterminate us! And that is exactly what they plan on doing! Or, the fucking mad-for-power people want to kidnap us and use us for the purpose of getting more and taking over! How do you think this started?! Are you that fucking dense? Take that knowledge and stick it up your ass! Fuck this shit!" |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | Jack took a few second to realize what he had just heard then he started to chuckle. "That's the big bad secret? That is what you have been covering up all this time, you really are stupid. Maybe I should be aiming that at myself instead, I was looking to help humanity when the cure was under my nose the entire time." Jack laughed hysterically for a few minutes before continuing. "Since you are obviously a living breathing human with a heartbeat, your body has adapted to at least make the virus inert. All we need to do is isolate the antibodies responsible for doing this to the virus, and then you could make an anti-viral. I don't even need your aunt's notes, just you and your aunt's expertise in the field you planned on joining anyway." He stopped talking for a few seconds, before he pointed his gun at Christie's body and fired he made sure he saw blood coming out of her stomach as he checked to make sure she wasn't wearing body armor. She was but the rounds had made it through. "Sorry Christie, but the deal's off. Now I'm going to let you go Alan, and I expect you to go and find a cure for this. Do what is good for humanity, and your family. I apologize for my actions and I regret that I will not be able to join you." Jack untied Alan and handed him the keys to the hummer. "Its out in the forest. Walk out the back door and follow the tire tracks, your sister and the others are probably looking for you. So just head where ever you were going to go when you ran from us. I will walk back to the school, Christie had called an extraction team to the school, and if I am no longer needed I shall head back there. Good day to you." Jack pointed to the door. "Take her gun before you head out." |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "You are just so fucking stupid," Alan said, tossing the keys back at Jack before picking up the gun. He paused for a moment before firing a round into Jack's upper right chest. "Payback," he told Jack, watching him fall beofre walking out. 'God people are stupid. He didn't think we've tried to make a cure? Fuck man, I'm so happy I was never born as stupid as him,' he thought. He exited the building and started down the dirt road, deciding he would go to the summer house. 'Uncle Al is there, and I can only assume Adries is. God, I'm just so pissed. I should head back up there and end it...no point now.' |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | ((So I'm not dead, that's good. Everyone, Tsa tried to kill my character, AVENGE ME!!!)) Jack laid on his back. he thought as he crawled over to Christie's corpse. 'He was smart enough to take the pistol, but dumb enough he left the assault rifle. He calls me the idiot?' Jack reached Christie's still bleeding body and took out her standard issue first aid kit. He bandaged the wounds tightly before injecting himself with a shot of morphine. He took the med kit and rifle and walked out of the room and started following Alan to wherever he had been going. He knew he would probably die going that way, but he would definitely die if he tried to get back to the school. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | ((No I didn't! There is no proof! None at all! *edits everything* )) Alan groaned, looking at his foot. "Of course I step on the dead, rotting corpse. Of, fucking, course!" he yelled, taking a seat on a log a few feet away. He was tired, and wasn't sure if he'd make it. "I guess it's a mile away from here. I can make it. Come on Alan. You've got to," he said as he got back up and continued on his walk. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | Jack walked down the stairs, the bandages slowing the bleeding by a good amount. he walked up to the door until he heard Alan's voice. He waited until he heard Alan's voice and footsteps getting quieter before leaving himself. He started walking down the path towards the vehicle with keys in hand. 'He left me the keys to the vehicle as well. My god next time I see him, call him a moron on four counts being a biotechnician who doesn't know the difference between a vaccine and an anti-viral, not taking my gun, leaving me the keys, and not making sure I was dead.' He made it to the car and climbed in before starting it and pulling out onto the road and heading along the way they had been going when trying to find this building. He knew he could find a town with a clinic, and then he could get these bullets out of him. |
Master Looter Posts: 2994 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Plans seem to work out better than when we improvise anyway. Most times when we improvise things turn bad," Lisa started, keeping her eyes on the road as she spoke, "Say, Adries, do you think your Uncle would be at the summer home still? " |
Master Looter Posts: 2349 Joined: 29 Jul 2009 | Before y'all go any further, you all do realize that we're clear past the two thousandth post mark right? *blows party horn* Cigars for everyone! *hands out fake cigars* |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 992 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | ((Go us, we rock. Yes though Christie is officially a dead character, and Jack is kind of on his own now.)) Jack continued to drive down the road, until he reached what seemed to be a deserted town. He searched for some kind of medical facility only finding a small doctors office. He entered and checked to see if the lights worked, they did. Running down the halls he found a small ICU with tweezers, tools to stitch himself up, and gauze. Finding a mirror in one of the offices he set about getting the bullets out of his chest and stitching himself up. It was a long and messy process that was sure to leave scars, but he was alive and that was what mattered. With all of this out of the way Jack got back into the car and set out to find someone who could help him find Alan's aunt. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "I can only assume he is," Adries replied to Lisa, holding onto the seat as they made their way on the dirt road. "I mean, he lives there so I don't think he'd leave it. And I know for a fact he isn't dead due to...well due to him being a bit...crazy. But in a crazy good way. Like, good for us." 'Alright, now how to cross the river?' Alan thought when he made it back to the rushing river. He started to look around the area and saw what he was looking for; a beaver dam. "And now I can make it across. Thank you cute little animals," he muttered to himself as he carefully walked across it. ((Yay! )) |

Jack kept moving only shooting the zombies in his path He took down around ten of them by the time he was through. Jack saw the river coming up.
'He thinks he'll make it if he gets to the river, perfect for me.' Jack thought.
